Ipadayag Digital started as a class project for the third-year Communications students from the University of San Carlos, but later on it became so much more. It became a platform for us to showcase local brands and public figures from Visayas and Mindanao that we absolutely love and support. With our fresh, youthful VisMin perspective, we have received tremendous support from the community since its launch.
As 2020 approaches its closing, we are afraid that we might have to part ways for now. Don’t worry because this doesn’t mean that we are entirely closing down! We may continue to share some relevant content that is relevant to the VisMin community. As always, our articles are always available to read at any place and at any time, but we are now about to reach inactivity as our class project is complete.
Of course, we cannot say good-bye without thanking some very important people that helped Ipadayag reach where it is today!
First of all, we want to give our thanks to YOU, the 281 people who followed us on social media, and the 759 people who visited our website. Thank you for reading and loving our content and sharing them. You guys have no idea how a simple click of the share button means a lot to us! We reached 3,370 post reaches and 1,574 post engagements on Facebook (according to Facebook data dated from November 19 to December 16) and 36.7k impressions on Twitter (according to Twitter data dated on the entire month of November), all because of you guys!
Secondly, we want to thank our brand partners, the Metamorphosis Group, BAYE and the Malaya Project, for allowing us to collaborate with them on informative branded content that is deeply close to their values as advocacy businesses.
Thirdly, we want to thank SAS Bulletin and Carolinian Communications Society for covering Ipadayag Digital for their feature articles! Your coverage of our publication means a lot to us!
If you don’t mind us celebrating ourselves for a bit, we want to thank ourselves, the Ipadayag Editorial Board and Staff for the job well done in maintaining the publication. Despite the stress from online classes and anxieties brought by the pandemic, we still managed to provide content that is relevant to our audience! We definitely deserve to reward ourselves with a long break!
Lastly, and most importantly, we want to thank our Digital Publishing professor, Katrina Marie Balmaceda, for guiding us with her insights on how to run a digital publication. Her lessons on how to create digital content, as well as her constant feedback on our publication were definitely insightful and will help us in our future endeavors.
Before we pulled down the curtains, our Kweens of Ipadayag Digital had a couple of final things to say, in their own words.
Zachels Nuneza, Editor-in-Chief:
“Ipadayag Digital was fun while it lasted. Each of us learned and had fun at the same time with the activities and the things that we do for the publication. I wish and hope what we learned during the production and the publishing of Ipadyag Digital will be something that we can apply in the future. I hope that Ipadayag Digital has reached people and they learn from the content that we publish. I just want to say thank the people who supported us. While it was a class project, we really feel like people are reading our content. All of our hard work has paid off because our professor gave good feedback, as well as from the people who are reading us. To the Ipadayag Team, thank you for doing your very best and it is something that we are proud of as Ipadayag Digital is our baby [of our batch]. I really learned a lot and it was a fun ride.”
Lara Eviota, Associate Editor:
“Ipadayag Digital started out merely for class compliance, but over the weeks, it's become an avenue for growth, expression, and exploration; we made it our own. It's our little brainchild and within a span of a month, it's grown so much – attracting over 230 likes on Facebook and racking up hundreds to thousands of readers. In one way or another, this project has made a positive impact for the block - helping us hone our craft, explore new passions, and challenge limiting beliefs. But most importantly, we started Ipadayag hoping to inform, inspire, and entertain the youth with progressive takes and street-smart tips and I am beyond happy we succeeded despite the odds stacked up against our favor. Daghang salamat to our readers and supporters! You and the team made this possible. ❤️”
And that’s a wrap on Ipadayag Digital! Instead of saying good-bye, we are going to say “See You Later!”. Daghang Salamat! :)
