"Pambahay" Chic: Looking cute at home

2020 is really not how we expected it to be, huh? Canceling plans, missing people, daydreaming about what could have been without this pandemic, stressing about online classes, overthinking about everything, and getting angry at the incompetence of our government are just some of the things that comprise our thoughts in this ‘new normal’. We really went from working out every day and drinking dalgona coffee to being unmotivated and waking up just to get things done.

Before the lack of motivation starts to creep in, there is one thing that might help some of uswearing cute pambahay outfits! It may seem really tiring because there’s no point putting an effort into how you look when you’re just at home the whole day, but trust me – actually getting ready and putting on stylish outfits can make your day a hundred times better!

Working from home has been a part of our daily routine for 8 months now (can you imagine?), so here are some style tips on how to look cute even if you’re only in the comfort of your own room.

Amp up your usual pambahay outfits and be the most stylish, working-from-home kween!

1. Nighties.

One of the trendiest comfy outfits this year are nighties, silk dresses, and sets. Not only do they look good and complement all shapes, colors, and sizes, but they can also make you feel super sexy and put together. Bring out your inner goddess and look elegant and sultry at the same time in your fave nighties! Gone are the days where nighties are just for comfy sleepwear — you can now rock them the whole day, too!

2. Silk Pajamas

Put on a pair of matching silk pajamas and you’ll for sure look like you have life figured out! There is just something about sets that make you feel classy and extra. You can even dress it up or dress it down however you want.

3. Shorts and Cropped Tops.

If you want a more low-key vibe when it comes to styling your pambahay clothes, the tried-and-tested shorts and crop top combo is for you! Sweatshorts have been really in lately and partnering them with a cami or a cropped shirt just adds a lil’ bit of spice in your outfit! It doesn’t only look good, but it is very comfortable when worn, as well.

The thing is, wearing cute and stylish outfits doesn’t only apply to when you go out — try and put more effort to motivate yourself and feel good about yourself. Remember, self-care should always be your #1 priority.

Looking good while also feeling good must be your goal. Being happy ultimately reflects from within — if you’re happy, it really shows in your physical appearance, attitude, and even your work ethic. So if you feel kinda down and unmotivated, try to invest more time in yourself. Do something you’re passionate about, exercise, get ready, and wear clothes that make you feel good and I swear, you’ll see a difference.
